AFS PAST CHAIRMAN NIGHT
Scott Pfeifer-OSHA Silica Standard
By now, it should be old news that there is a new OSHA Standard for Respirable Crystalline Silica (29 CFR 1926.1153). The new standard was effective June 23, 2016. Official enforcement begins June 23, 2018. The standard is aimed at protecting workers exposed to silica at their job, and that they are properly protected. Please join the Central Ohio Chapter Meeting April 19th at the Makoy Center for Past Chairman’s Night. Dinner will include, served salad with rolls and butter, braised steak with caramelized onions and crimini mushrooms or roasted cod with blackening spices served with grilled pineapple salsa, and an assorted mini dessert display. Scott Pfeiffer from August Mack Environmental is kind enough to join us to give a presentation discussing:
1 – The difference between dust and Respirable Silica.
2 – How to do the minimum due diligence at your facility.
3 – Where to go from here with tips and strategies.
